What’s Included

No age limit, good options for cover, competitive premiums and exceptional customer care

The following items are included in the complete healthcare policy at no extra cost except where indicated.

Womens’ Health Checks

Medical experts now recognise the benefit of regular health checks. These non-intrusive procedures can discover a problem before it develops into a more serious complaint.

This is particularly true for women and statistics show that cervical cancer, when caught early on, has a much better chance of being cured. A reduction of up to 25 per cent in the incidence of cervical cancer has been recorded since regular screenings were introduced in Britain in the 1990s. Likewise with breast cancer where regular screening can spot any abnormalities early on allowing the specialists to take action. The mammogram can detect small changes in breast tissue which may indicate cancers which are too small to be felt either by the woman herself or by a doctor.

Regular checks on a woman’s bone density can allow the professionals to assess the need for treatment for osteoporosis.

Lifestyle changes or medication may be recommended following cholesterol and blood pressure checks.

Because of this El Perpetuo Socorro offers the following Well-Woman health checks as part of its private medical insurance:

  • Regular smear tests
  • Bone density checks
  • Cholesterol monitoring
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Yearly mammograms

Mens’ Health Checks

Medical experts now recognise the benefit of regular healthcare checks. These non-intrusive procedures can discover a problem before it develops into a more serious complaint. This is particularly true in the case of prostate cancer where regular screening can detect changes that cannot be felt either by the doctor or the patient. Statistics show that when caught early on these cancers have a much better chance of being cured.

Heart disease may be prevented by lifestyle changes or medication that the doctors recommend following regular cardiology, cholesterol and blood pressure checks.
